toddler = picky!!

Some days they won't eat anything, or eat anything for days! Normal too.

1Tablespoon per age of anything your eating is the amt typical for toddlers. And they might not eat that, and then a day or a week later, you won't be able to keep them full!

If your struggling with getting them to eat healthy, like veggies, give them to them first, like when your still working on dinner prep and give them something to dip them in. Peanut butter, yogurt, ketchup, whatever! LOL

IMO, avoid making them special meals, because if you do, where does it end? Do you want to be making them special meals for the rest of their growing up years? They eat whats being served or go hungry, they starve themselves, I promise!

A lot of good points, Kathy.

Samuel loves fruit... bananas, strawberries, blueberries, apples, watermelons, etc.
He also loves pasta and chicken, as well as bread, rolls, toast, crackers, pancakes, waffles, etc.
Vegetables are the most difficult. He will "try a bite" but 9 times out of 10 he'll spit it out.
If I make fresh sweet potatoes, steamed carrots or mashed potatoes he'll eat those.
Since he can't have milk, we give him soy yogurt, which he really likes for breakfast.
He also loves soy butter or peanut butter. :)
If I give him juice, I buy 100% juice and dilute it quite a bit. And.. he still likes his bottle very much.
He takes 4 (4 oz.) bottles of Neo-Cate One (formula substitute).

He loves eggs, but recently he's started to break out in blotches and his eyes swell. So, we're taking a break from eggs (along with milk).

Now that I've typed it out, he eats more than I realized. I try so hard to limit pizza, nuggets, fries, etc.
So I am always looking for ideas! :D

Most of the time, yes! But, it depends, really.

Tonight he had grilled sirloin beef tips, baked sweet potato, green beans and a roll. He loved it!

Breakfast and lunch are more of a struggle since he needs to refrain from milk products and eggs.
Luckily, he still loves the baby rice cereal .. .loves it. So I often make him a warm bowl of that with fresh fruit and he's very happy!
